Trauma Untethered

Four hour birth worker/caregiver boundaries and trauma course, ideally taken before or after any of the resuscitation courses. Designed to help those who attend birth or provide care to begin to recognize and set healthy boundaries, and acknowledge and navigate their trauma.  Includes dissemination of research regarding boundaries and secondary trauma, with sessions on somatic processing, tapping, exploring wounds and motivation, debriefing, and horizontal and vertical violence, and much more. Specific courses for EMS available as well.

Julie’s trauma course is a safe, supportive setting to explore how we are affected by unexpected, difficult or stressful situations that inevitably arise as we work intimately with families, colleagues and the unpredictable nature of birth. Our team learned practically helpful information about how our brains process stressful situations and some simple things we can do to minimize trauma and support each other well. We were able to share some of our individual perspectives and experiences, which helped us get to know each other better and improve our teamwork.
